A driving force in the world of roses, Chris has blazed new trails both inside and outside the organization. As editor of the American Rose Society's "Fragrant Rose" e-membership newsletter the organization has seen enrollment skyrocket increase for this vital electronic membership offering.
Chris is an innovator of programs and projects that he independently initiated and made into a success, solely due to his vision and passion for roses. In 2012, frustrated by negative publicity about roses, he took matters into his own hands and created the Rose Chat Podcast. This podcast, solely dedicated to helping gardeners grow awesome roses was scoffed at. People told him he was crazy, that no one would listen. The naysayers didn't stop him. Today, this popular resource has produced over 185 episodes and has reached almost one million downloads.
A sought after nationally recognized speaker, TV personality and podcast host, Chris has created new opportunities for the ARS and has always made helping to grow the ARS part of his work. In 2016, he launched a line of gardening tools with world renowned garden tool manufacturer DeWit solidifying his place on the international stage.
Chris has a unique ability to get things done, to develop winning teams and to do things in a new way with powerful results. This coupled with a contagious enthusiasm makes Chris the future leader that the American Rose Society needs to move forward.
